About Me
Hi, I'm Louise
I left school at 15 to care for my mum, and I’m now a GCSE exam marker and teacher with over 10 years of experience. It wasn't the start I'd hoped for - but it wasn't the end of my story either. At 28, I went back to education and achieved A*s in both maths and English, before going on to study a maths degree with the Open University. All of this while working full time and raising my own family. It was far from easy - but that experience is what drives me every day to help students succeed and discover just how capable they really are.
I'm now a qualified maths teacher and a Pearson Edexcel GCSE examiner. That means I don't just teach maths - I know exactly how it's marked. I know which topics come up most, what examiners are looking for, and where students lose marks they didn't need to lose.
My small-group lessons are built around that knowledge. I quickly spot gaps in understanding, focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference, and clear up the misconceptions that so often hold students back.
I believe every student can become confident in maths. My goal isn't just better grades - it's helping students learn to think mathematically, tackle challenges with confidence, and build skills that stay with them long after the exams are over.
